Officially endorsed by Holden and Ford, Rare Spares have two partner programs, ‘Holden Restoration Parts’ and ‘Ford Restoration Parts’. These logos feature prominently in the advertisements, which use a classic Holden and Ford as restoration projects.

Rare Spares Launch Major ‘Suite of Brands’ Marketing Initiative

Rare Spares have just launched a major marketing program that will encompass all aspects of the Rare Spares brand and explore the role it plays in each and every stage of a classic car restoration project.

The new initiative, called the Rare Spares Suite of Brands, has already launched through two new print advertisements in Street Machine Magazine, Unique Cars Magazine and Australian Muscle Car Magazine, and a series of brand new TV advertisements will be on a screen near you soon.

The new print ads represent why Rare Spares really is more than just a part in your project. The ads outline how Rare Spares, across its various brands including Holden Restoration Parts, Ford Restoration Parts, Nasco and Shed Talk, are involved in each and every part of Australia’s classic car culture, from Summernats, the Touring Car Masters and car club events, through to sponsorship of motoring racing legends John Bowe and Cameron McConville.

Supplying tens of thousands of parts to thousands of car restorers and hundreds of car clubs across Australia and New Zealand is an incredible success story, considering Rare Spares’ humble beginnings as a part time business 38 years ago. We wanted to highlight this success and tell the story of what Rare Spares has evolved into through the Suite of Brands marketing campaign.

A Word From John Bowe

Hi there to all my Rare Spares friends,

It’s a very busy time right now for me; I am at the start of a scheduled 5 consecutive weekends of racing. Prior to this I spent the weekend at the MotorEx show in Sydney. I honestly have to say that it’s the best car show I have ever attended, literally hundreds of cars to make your eyes bulge.

Looking at the Toranas, Monaros and Falcon GTs I could not help but be reminded what an important part Rare Spares play in preserving our motoring heritage. They all are restored using Rare Spares mind boggling selection of resto parts!

This weekend I am racing the Maranello Ferrari in Queensland which is as hi-tech as the Mustang is low-tech. The following weekend I am racing my friend Trevor Simpson’s 1967 Brabham BT 23 open-wheel car at the Winton Festival of Speed, then it’s off to America to race at the Famed Laguna Seca Raceway for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.

Since I retired from V8 supercar racing, I seem to be doing more racing and driving than ever, just not getting paid for it; but let’s face it, I love cars and love the sport, so I intend to race until I am 80.

Wish me luck, JB

Rare Spares Ambassador John Bowe Remains In The Lead After Round 4 Of The Touring Car Masters Championship

Rare Spares is a proud sponsor of the Touring Car Masters Championship. Round 4 of the Championship took place at Queensland Raceway, Ipswich last weekend (July 27-28).

Rare Spares ambassador John Bowe remains in the lead after this round, achieving two victories over the weekend in his Ford Mustang Sally.

In Saturday’s practice sessions, Bowe completed the fastest lap of 1:18:4306s around Ipswich’s 3.12km circuit.

Topping both of the practice sessions, Bowe went on to win the first of the three races which took place over the weekend.

On Sunday’s first race, rival Jim Richards took the lead, with Bowe coming in second above Andrew Miedecke. In race two, Bowe charged back into the lead, securing his position in the lead of the championship.

“It was a real tribute to the boys in my little team John Bowe Racing to win the opening race on Saturday - they delivered a race car that could not have been any better despite 6700 rpm and 1680kg,” said Bowe.

Four more rounds remain of the season, with round 5 set to take place at Sydney Motorsport Park from August 30th – September 1st.

Rare Spares congratulate Bowe in his efforts over the weekend. Stay tuned for updates on the remaining championship rounds.
